Waste collection fee

The incentive-based fee takes your waste generation into account, while applying an annual flat rate that includes 12 pickups of your household waste bin. Reducing our waste, sorting it as effectively as possible, and recycling it protects our environment and our planet's resources.

Billing

A semi-annual bill is sent to the person using the trash bin (owner or tenant). It includes:

  • A fixed amount per user : Corresponds to the subscription to Smictom's services.
  • A fixed part proportional to the size of the yellow bin : it includes the bin collections (which are unlimited).
  • A fixed part proportional to the size of the orange bin : it includes 12 bin collections per year.
  • An amount per additional orange bin collection beyond the first 12.

These rates cover all SMICTOM services: household waste collection, yellow bin collection, and access to recycling centres. If you do not present your bin for collection, the fixed fees will still be billed.

Multifamily Housing

You are provided with your own trash can whenever possible. If these trash cans are stored in common or public areas, they are equipped with locks.

If it is technically impossible to install individual trash cans, communal bins are provided. The cost is billed to the landlord or property manager, who is responsible for allocating the charges to each unit.

For example:
Calculation of the per-resident utility bill for a 24-unit apartment building:

  • A fixed amount per household: 37 € (39 € in the Saverne, Bouxwiller, and Ingwiller areas)
  • A fixed fee per yellow bin: If the building has 6 yellow bins: 6 × 39 € / 24 = 9.75 €
  • A fixed fee per orange bin: If the building has 6 orange bins: 6 × 210 € / 24 = 99.25 €
  • No additional collections
  • TOTAL: 146€ per year

Clinical Waste Bin

A special waste bin may be provided to users with special needs due to a medical condition or treatment, as attested by a doctor’s note. There is no additional fixed fee for this bin; only the pickups will be billed. Please feel free to contact us at 03.88.02.21.80.

De facto invoice

De facto billing applies to primary or secondary residences as a mandatory minimum contribution to funding the Public Waste Management Service, as defined by resolution of the Board of Directors, in compliance with the collection and billing regulations in force.

Failing to use the collection bins provided for residual waste, packaging, and paper, owners of a property not declared vacant or rented must, at the very least, pay the de facto billing amount (€103 per year).
