Services

SMICTOM (Joint Association for the Collection and Treatment of Household Waste) in the Saverne region is responsible for the collection, disposal, and recycling of household waste.

SMICTOM oversees the collection of this waste through a five-year service contract (2022–2028) entered into with SEPUR (as well as AGRIVALOR for the collection of biowaste).

Waste treatment and recycling responsibilities are delegated to the SMITOM Haguenau-Saverne.

In total, the Smictom territory covers 76 municipalities with a combined population of approximately 63,000. The largest town is Saverne (with a population of about 12,300).

Elected officials

The Joint Authority Board processes and makes decisions on all financial, legal, and organizational matters related to the operation of SMICTOM.

It consists of the President and four vice presidents, who meet once a quarter. The Executive Committee prepares the agenda items, which are then presented to the Steering Committee, composed of 27 elected members.
